Erasmus+ outgoings
We are delighted that you are interested in studying abroad as part of Erasmus+. This is the right page for you if you are studying at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Hamburg and are planning to spend one or two semesters at a partner university in another European country. Participation in the Erasmus+ program offers many benefits:
- exemption from tuition fees at the host university
- administrative support from the home and host universities
- financial grant of currently EUR 540 to EUR 600 per month (depending on the country group; billed on a daily basis; paid in two installments)
- special funding possible for students with fewer opportunities: students with children, students with disabilities/chronic illnesses, working students and first-generation academics (additional EUR 250 per month)
- subsidy for green travel/sustainable travel possible (max. 6 additional days eligible for funding)
- recognition of academic achievements abroad in accordance with the Learning Agreement
- possibility of multiple funding: funding of max. 7 months per study cycle is possible (for two-semester stays)
Please note: Switzerland is not an Erasmus+ program country, but supports German exchange students from its own financial resources as part of the "Swiss European Mobility Programme". You will receive further information on this directly from the partner university once your application has been successful. You will therefore not receive any financial Erasmus+ funding from the University of Hamburg for a study visit to a partner university in Switzerland. However, the application procedure is initially similar to the Erasmus+ program.
