Studying abroad with Erasmus+

After your stay

Welcome back to Hamburg! After your exciting Erasmus+ stay, the important process of follow-up and reflection begins. Here you will learn how to document your experiences, go through recognition processes and benefit from your international network in the best possible way.

After your stay:

  • Please complete the online EU Survey on your computer. You will receive the link immediately after your return. Students who have indicated in the online EU survey that their recognition procedure has not yet been completed will receive another online survey on the subject of recognition after 45 days, which must also be completed.

  • Upload the following documents to Mobility Online:
    • Confirmation of Stay - Part 2
    • Transcript of Records (after receipt from the host university)
    • Freely formulated experience report

The second installment of your Erasmus+ grant can only be paid out once your documents are complete.

Please apply for recognition of your academic achievements after your return, i. e. immediately after receiving the transcript of records from the host university.  Please contact your subject-specific Erasmus+ coordinator, the relevant (sub-)subject coordinator and/or the academic office responsible for you. The forms required for the recognition process can be found on the website of your academic office ("Studienbüro").

At the same time, you must formally register your stay abroad via STiNE. You can find more information on the procedure here.

If you have spent your semester abroad as part of an exchange program at a partner university and, for example, encounter difficulties with the awarding of grades and ECTS credits or problems with the recognition of your academic achievements abroad, the following information will help you.

If you would like to support other international visting students during their initial orientation period at the University of Hamburg before or after your stay abroad, you are welcome to join the PIASTA Welcome Buddy Programm.

This is a cross-faculty program through which you can get in touch with a visiting student according to your language, subject and personal interests.
