Internationalization strategy
Focused, effective, efficient, sustainable
The Faculty of Humanities understands internationalization as a dynamic networking process that connects research, teaching, and education in an open, diverse, and democratic environment. International exchange leads to innovation, unlocks development potential, guarantees sustainable education, promotes competitiveness, and contributes significantly to securing the attractiveness of the University of Hamburg as a location. Based on the University of Hamburg's internationalization strategy, we promote global partnerships, digital access, and barrier-free participation in order to jointly develop responses to international challenges and secure the long-term future of our university.
For strategic implementation, we bundle our international activities in clearly defined fields of action: By establishing a faculty-based International Office, we are strengthening consulting, support, and networking, creating transparent and efficient framework conditions for mobility and cooperation, and increasing the visibility of international research and teaching. We invest in inclusion, personnel development, and the targeted expansion of international study programs in order to promote sustainable partnerships, develop intercultural skills, and effectively leverage synergies between actors, programs, and networks.
