New Professor of Digital Cultures and Imaginative Intelligence: Prof. Dr. Hilke Marit Berger

Since April 1, 2026, Prof. Dr. Hilke Marit Berger has held a professorship in Digital Cultures and Imaginative Intelligence in the Department of Philosophy, Institute for Liberal Arts & Sciences.
Hilke Berger completed her studies in communication and media sciences and theater studies at the University of Leipzig in 2008 with a Master of Arts degree. In 2017, she received her doctorate from HafenCity University Hamburg on the topic of “Action instead of negotiation. Art as joint urban design.” Between 2008 and 2025, she held various positions as a research assistant, including as a postdoctoral researcher and principal investigator in her own projects at HCU. There, she also served as the equal opportunities officer and, most recently, as deputy director and scientific director of the City Science Lab.
