New Professor for Systematic Musicology: Prof. Dr. Daniel Müllensiefen

Prof. Dr. Daniel Müllensiefen is the new Professor of Systematic Musicology at the Department of Studies in Culture and Arts since April 1, 2025.
Daniel Müllensiefen completed his master's degree in systematic musicology, historical musicology and journalism at the University of Hamburg in 2000 and his doctorate in systematic musicology in 2004. The title of his dissertation is “Variability and constancy of melodies in memory. A contribution to music-psychological memory research”. From 2004 to 2006 he was a lecturer at UHH and from 2006 to 2024 he held various academic positions at Goldsmiths College, University of London, most recently as Professor in the Psychology Department since 2018. Various visiting professorships as well as consulting and expert activities in science and business have accompanied his career.
