Teacher training degree programs from A to Z
The Faculty of Humanities is responsible for the academic training of future teachers in 13 subjects in the humanities. The Faculty of Education teaches educational science and subject didactics.
Universität Hamburg offers degree programs for the following types of teaching profession:
- Teaching degree for elementary school (LAGS)
- Teaching degree for secondary levels I and II (district schools and grammar schools) (LASek)
- Teaching degree for special education (LAS)
- with an elementary school profile (LAS-G)
- with a secondary school profile (LAS-Sek) with an additional profile for secondary levels I and II
- Teaching degree for vocational schools (LAB)
The degree programs lead to a Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.) followed by the Master of Education (M.Ed.). Together with the preparatory service (Referendariat), they qualify students for the teaching profession at the relevant type of school.
