Exercises in OpenOlat („Übungen“)
1 January 2024, by DL-Büro GW
The winter semester is coming to an end and exam time is approaching. The “Übung” (Exercise) module in your OpenOlat course is a great way to support learning and review the content you have taught.
Exercises in OpenOlat work according to the principle of flashcards. Automatically assessable questions are repeated and consolidated by the students at their individual learning pace. In this way, learners receive feedback on their own learning progress without being graded.
If you have previously worked with test questions in OpenOlat, you can reuse the questions in exercise series. Entire tests or individual questions thereof can be repeated in exercises. Questions can also be integrated into the “Übungen” module via the question bank. Entries in the question bank can be easily shared with other authors (e.g. tutors) in OpenOlat.
A particular advantage is that students' learning progress is transferred even if they are taking part in several of your courses on related topics. Exercises that students have already successfully completed in a course therefore do not have to be completed twice.
You can find a detailed video tutorial in the “Build me up”-course about the OpenOlat course elements. If you are interested or have individual questions, please do not hesitate to contact your trusted DL-Office. We wish you a happy new year 2024!
